How To Work Meditation Into Your Daily Routine

If you are interested in working meditation into your daily life, there are a few different ways that you can approach it. Meditation has been around forever.

However, meditation has gotten more difficult over the last few years because there are so many things competing for our attention – like our phones and social media. You cannot deny the impact that meditation has on our lives – so you need to find a way to put it into your daily life.

Here are some of our favorite ways to do it:

1. Meditate Instead of Going On Social Media

Social media is a huge time suck and we are all victims of it. Instead of aimlessly scrolling your Twitter feed or fighting with someone on Facebook, take to meditation instead. You will clear up some of your brain fog and take care of yourself even more.

2. Use It As A Way To Calm Down Before Bed

If you are the type of person who cannot fall asleep at night, meditation is a great way to calm down and go to sleep. Meditation is beneficial to sleeping becuase not only does it get you away from the blue light of your phone, but it helps to center you and calm down your body.

Listen to calming music, settle somewhere comfortable, and relax your body. You will find that not only do you fall asleep more easily, but you will stay asleep as well.

3. Do It During Yoga

The next one is probably pretty obvious. If you take a yoga class, you can combine it with meditation. You will feel more in-tune with the movements that you do and you will also have a new feeling of peace.

Of course, you need to pay attention to the class as well.

However, if you practice yoga by yourself, you will be able to do this very easily. Combine yoga and meditation to make the most of your time.

4. Do It On Your Commute

Now, this will only work if you take public transportation. Even so, you can practice meditation while sitting on the train or bus. On the way to work, it will help you to prepare for the day and sort out your mind so that you don’t show up to work stressed.

On the way home, it can help you to really wind down from your day and sort through your feelings before you see your family.

5. As You Shower

If you love to take a long, hot shower, that is the perfect time to meditate. You can’t do it for all that long because it does waste a bit of water, but it can be perfect for those days when you need the hot water to work on your muscles.

6. When You Are Stressed At Work

If you tend to get stressed at work, find time in your day to meditate. Take to your office and do some meditation. You can also do it when you are trying to brainstorm for new ideas, when you getting ready for a pitch, or just when you need to have an important meeting with your boss.

Of course, you will need to find a way to free your mind in all of these situations. It isn’t always going to be easy, but you will learn what techniques work for you. I like to download music onto my phone and put my Airpods in to do it. Just makes sure that you turn on Do Not Disturb so that you can focus on meditation.

After some time, meditation will feel second nature to you.
