How To Incorporate Coconut Oil Into Your Beauty Routine

Coconut oil has been portrayed as a miracle product by so many people, and with good reason. It is something that you can use in body scare, skincare, cooking, around your home, and more. It is a natural product that, as long as you are sure that it is unrefined and ethically sourced.

There are so many different ways to use coconut oil, but many people just think that it can be used for everything. It can’t be used in all aspects of beauty – there are some things it won’t help – but here are some of our favorite ways to use it:

When Shaving Your Legs

Want incredibly smooth legs without razor bumps? Use coconut oil instead of shaving cream and see how nice your legs will get. You will have to be careful because coconut oil is SLICK and you will make your shower slippery. Put down a towel you don’t care all that much about before your shave your legs.

Improve Your Dental Health

You can use coconut oil to help fight against bacteria in your mouth, including Streptococcus mutans, which is what causes tooth decay, gum disease, and more. Swish coconut oil (also known as oil pulling) for about 10 minutes and you will reduce these bacteria.

You will also see a reduction in gum inflammation and your teeth may even be a little bit whiter.

Make Your Eyelashes Longer

Another great use for coconut oil is to take a spoolie and put it on your eyelashes. This will help them to naturally be longer and stronger. While you do have to be careful (do NOT get it in your eyes), you will see some great results after a few weeks.

For me, my mascara went on a lot easier and I was able to see thicker, fuller lashes.

Moisturize Your Skin

If you just spent the day at the beach or you got some sunburn, you may need to moisturize your skin some more. The good news is that coconut oil will help you to do that. You will remain slick for quite some time, and coconut oil can stain, so be careful about sitting down. Even so, it is perfect for those spots where you always seem to get dry, like your elbows and knees.

Use It As A Natural Deodorant

Another way to use coconut oil is to use it as a natural deodorant. We all know that deodorant isn’t great for you, and coconut oil can help to make your beauty routine a bit healthier.

The bacteria in your armpits is what makes your sweat smell, so coconut oil combats that. It will not stop you from sweating.

Heal Your Cuticles

If you are like me, your cuticles are dry and cracked pretty much all the time. Use coconut oil on your cuticles and around your fingernails. This won’t only help your fingers to heal, it will prevent painful hangnails and can also help your nails grow stronger and better.

Bonus: coconut oil will help to keep your nail polish from chipping as well.

Remove Eye Makeup

Finally, you can use coconut oil to take your make up off – put some on a cotton swab and then use it to breakdown the make up that you wear. It is particularly great at getting off stubborn mascara and eyeliner. Even better, it will nourish around your eyes so your fine lines aren’t as visible.

Don’t miss out on adding coconut oil to your beauty routine. It is affordable, easy to find, and you can get a huge jar of it to last a long time!
