Fall is here and that means it’s time to decorate for the season! You could buy cheap decorations from the store, but we all know that’s nowhere near as fun and rewarding as making your own. These fun fall DIY decorations are not only easy and inexpensive, they’re really fun to make!
Melted Crayon Pumpkins

From CraftHubs.com comes this idea for melted crayon pumpkins. This is a fun and colorful way to decorate for Halloween, or just for the hell of it. Best part is that you don’t have to deal with the mess of carving pumpkins. This is a fun craft project that you can even do with your kids. All you need is a white pumpkin, a pack of crayons, glue and a hairdryer. Peel the paper off of your crayons and glue them to the pumpkin, then melt them with the hairdryer. Who says fall has to be only fall colors?
Fall Simmer Pot

Usually when people want to fill their homes with the scent of fall, they either have to spend the entire day baking, or rely on artificial scents like those from a candle or Scentsy bars. I can understand if you don’t want to spend the entire day baking, but what you really don’t want to do is use candles containing paraffin and the toxic chemicals used to create the scent of a pumpkin spice latte. What you can do instead is make what is called a “simmer pot”. They’re really easy to make no matter what you use in them. Mason Jar Lanterns

If you have neither a lot of time or money to spare, then you can make these simple and quite beautiful looking lanterns from old mason jars (of which I’m sure you have plenty lying around your house), from Pinterest user Flux Decor. All you’ll need are mason jars, fake fall leaves, and battery operated LED light strands, which you can find here.
Put the leaves and lights in there and place them all around your house. For an eerie orange glow you can glue the leaves to the sides of the jars.

I used to make these when I was a kid, so yeah they’re pretty easy, fast, and safe for kids to do. Cut out different silhouettes of Halloween things like bats, witches, and such. Tape them to the inside of a white, cream, or yellow colored lampshade for a spooky accent that’s perfect for your Halloween party. Make sure that they are nowhere near the bulb, so you don’t start a fire.
Fall is my favorite time of year, and I love decorating my house for the season, more so than Christmas even. You can make your home fall festive for little or no money as long as you know how to be resourceful. Most of these are made with things that can either be found around your home, or at any dollar store.
